Joint Warrior
Hi up North !
Can anyone shed any light on whether the annual maritime 'Joint Warrior' exercise will be held at Kinloss in 2011.
If not, and the exercise remains planned, where could it go?
Many thanks
RM

Re: Joint Warrior
Lossie, Leuchars and Prestwick would all be available for JW, but of course they could move it to another country at any time same as they did with the TLP.
Personally I think Kinloss will still be hosting a/c for a good few years yet.

Ex JW 2011-01 will take place between the 4th & 15th April (Does this mark the last to be held at Kinloss?)
I should imagine the participants will be along the same lines as last year. French Atlantiques, USN P-3Cs, Canadian CP-140s and your RAF stuff, plus the possibility of New Zealand, German or Norweigan P-3Cs in Kinloss, with Lossiemouth hopefully seeing some fighters too. But that's just a guess at the moment.
I've already booked accomidation and will be making a return to Findhorn during my half term for the second week of the excerise. Really looking forward to going back to Kinloss and especially looking forward to catching up with everyon from last time!

Stotfield is the next closest. Plenty B&B's though within staggering distance of pubs.

The Abbey Inn at Kinloss is very good! Great food and it too has a great pub, also got a Chinese next door. Its about 30sec drive from the viewing point for Kinloss.. Loved that place from my flying days!
Lossiemouth is only a 10min drive away.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets cancelled all together. Back in 1997 Lossie was to host TAM 97 but it was cancelled last minute due to the Kosovo crisis, bit of a shame as it had one sh** hot line up
Re: Joint Warrior
Might not be JW related, but there's a VX20 (it says the unit no. under the NAVY marking) P3C, 158204, at Kinloss now, not sure when it arrived.
Cheers Niall
