Look at sufa36's log from Tuesday, it appears ES was flying then, maybe it was an airspare?

Hi everyone,

I'm heading up to Leuchars the middle of next week through November 1 (I'm over visting from the states). Was it only the 4 Typhoons that were designated for this exercise or were there more?

I'd hate to get up there only to find an empty ramp!

Thanks in advance

John

Yes only 4 departed for this ex. Was over yesterday and 6 aircraft were on the line, today there was 4 but with it being a Friday, to be expected.

I've got 2 periods of leave booked for different weeks in November and wondered how the levels of activity at Leuchars are likely to be as I'm pondering a days spotting at Leuchars.

Usually you'll get 2 waves of 4-6 aircraft. First wave 1000L, second wave 1300/1400L. If they're night flying you'll only get the 1300/1400L wave before it gets dark.

This is just an estimation on past occurences and trends.

I understand that although only 4 aircraft went, that a good portion of the squadron went via Tristar or commercial.

With that being said, have you guys still seen the two waves of 4 to 6 aircraft going each day or has that schedule been reduced?

Cheers

John

John,
On Thursday 2 out of 6 went flying, Friday 3 out of 4 were flying in the short time i was over there each day. Im told there has been 8 different jets noted on the line this week.

Guys, I saw ZK30?/EB on approach to Butterworth this morning. It was accompanied by ZK313/EN.

It (EB) doesn't seem to appear on the list of aircraft above which departed Leuchars for Ex Bersama Lima 2011.

Laurie.

ZK317/ES is still in the UK, EB is ZK304. HTH

It does indeed help. The last digit of the serial was obscured in my photo. Many thanks.
