Re the crash gate in Reres woods. Had no problem with either Police or troops. However, a common sense approach with the camera was appreciated by them (no faces) and therefore was no problem.

Leuchars DZ / Zorro 2 on 280.675
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, then its an electrical problem.

At the time of being challenged, I was sat on the steel box on my phone. Camera was in the bag as it was raining. Despite explaining to them that we were there purely to shoot the aircraft and not personel, they were having none of it.100arw wrote:Re the crash gate in Reres woods. Always thought since the ludicrous decision to swap RAF for Army that there should have been a Flight of Army Helicopters at Leuchars. The T.A. Gazelles from a few Years ago spring to mind.
Also does anyone know wether there have been many Army Defenders/ Islanders visiting Leuchars?

Sorry One Mac I did actually mean in total since the Army took over including during this exercise.
Also I have to say that I was never a one or other campaigner for Leuchars or Lossiemouth to remain I am/ was always in the corner for both to remain as RAF Air Bases - no disrespect to Kinloss a great base but when the Nimrod was retired/ cancelled what could they do - sorry to admit it but one had to go.

I think they prefer to stay in local hotels at Prestwick, than the accommodation at Mildenhall.onemac wrote: I was also wondering why the US use Prestwick when there's adequate facilities at Mildenhall/Lakenheath just a few hundred miles down the road as the crow flies?

Defender has been in and out of Leuchars all week, especially at night. Globemaster ZZ178, Ascot 6653 also arrived this morning for the third time this week, landed 26 before noon, then departed 08 about 40 mins or so later with a nice low take off and power climb! Are the p7s squabbling again? This is getting boring, this thread is for Exercise Chameleon!

Is this aimed at me or another Mike? I have never been two feet from you, I talked to you at Prestwick a couple of years ago and the two of us had a good laugh together.venom wrote: rHey I'll cut my old freind some slack here
