Leuchars busy next 3 week?

Post by ArabJazzie » Fri Aug 26, 2016 8:28 pm

Hello all,
I hear that the place that isnt available for air ops is to be busy over the next week or 3. Having heard the ASPs have been cleared of bollards and things, i then learn there is to be some helicopters using the facilities. If anything turns up, i will be there!

Anyone have more details on this?
Arabest,
Geoff.

My parents live under the flightpath and said yesterday that fast jets traffic has increased over the last week to far more than it has over the last year.
Regular approaches by F15 pairs, Tornado and Typhoon

The 3 weeks would coincide with ex ample strike taking place in the Czech republic. USAF is meant to be having some large airframes for the ex. Surely can not be for that but we could all wish.

I understand that 2 Chinooks and 2 Lynx should now be there, along with a Herc that arrived earlier!

ZH886 and ZH877 are the Hercs
ZF537 and ZF538 are the Lynx
ZK558 and ZK560 are the Chinooks

It was a nice change to have an afternoon at the local again!
