Lossiemouth Log and Request 3-5-17

Post by Tiger 1 » Thu May 04, 2017 6:29 pm

Good evening everyone

Sorry for the delay in posting this up, it is just a rough log from a very quick lunch stop whilst travelling from Inverness to Aberdeen on the 3-5-17.

I would like to ask for some help with the following missing serials... I did notice a few guys present at the fence on both sides of the approach on the day, so hoping it was someone on FC that was there and can help me out.

Many thanks in advance for any help given... it will be very much appreciated.

LOSSIEMOUTH 05 approach end 3-5-17

TORNADO

????? noticed turning in on finals to land as I drove up to the 05 end

TYPHOON

????? ( ?? ) this was a single ship in to land as two more broke the circuit above.

????? ( FG ) these were the two ship in to land

????? ( BU )

????? ( BB ) these were a two ship departure

????? ( FA )

????? ( ET ) this was a single ship departure

Also flying circuits from the second runway was a DA42 which looked like G-COBS

Sorry about all the codes, only thing I could salvage from my photo`s... a large heat haze thanks to the lovely weather and poor focusing on my part, I`m afraid.

Many thanks again for any help :thumb:

Hi,

From my images yesterday :thumb:

Tornado - ZD792/100
Single Typhoon land - ZK369/unmarked
Typhoon Pair land - ZK318/FG - ZK351/BU
Typhoon Pair depart - ZK372/BB - ZK348/FN
Single Typhoon depart - ZJ949/ET
DA-42 was indeed G-COBS

Hope this helps
Cheers Niall

Hi All,

Just a bit of extra info for the 3rd of May and a query! I believe 8 Typhoons arrived from Lajes during the late afternoon, and maybe a Voyager or two. The Typhoons should have come back as two flights of four a/c - ZJ947 (RRR9511) plus 3 others in first flight, ZK343 (RRR9515) plus 3 more in the second flight. Not sure about the Voyagers, but I guess they also landed at Lossiemouth - if so, does anyone know when they departed?

Regards, TM74

Many thanks. I made a mistake with the Typhoons - only seven arrived. The last one (ZK321) didn't arrive back until the 5th. Fetched from Bangor, Maine, by one of the Voyagers (ZZ330).
Cheers, TM74
