Post by vulcanxl425 » Wed Feb 14, 2018 6:02 pm

NOTAM issued 8/2 advising that the airfield is closed to Diversions, Practice Diversions and Visiting Aircraft.
All day 0800 - 1800.

Not through to Lossie till things improve :(

wish I had taken picture of the aircraft landing out of the mist around 11:00 on the 19th, seen from the West Beach car park. Showing my ignorance all I can say was it was a four engined transport, foreign. Runway lights were switched off just after it landed though. Did notice a couple of cars along the spotters road at the edge of the golf course - perhaps they can post details here?

I noticed in trawling other sections in the forum there was a
Twin engine C-160 WGAF 50+86 in today.

Strange with the title heading ! ?
Does this help ?

That's probably what I saw, just remembered it incorrectly as four engined.

There was a C-130 in or around the Lossie area on Monday also. Seen in the afternoon, it either conducted an approach to or took off on RW05 flew out over the beach before heading North.

Possibly one of the two that was at Prestwick?
Might've been for low level to the north and overflew Lossie like normal, pure guessing though.
