Just had a thought recently after a discussion with a spotter friend, we both thought that if Leuchars had remained as a Typhoon Base then No.2 Sqdn would have fitted in nicely in No.43 Sqdn's old HAS Area as they are exactly the same colours I know there are some differences with both Squadrons emblems etc but the colours are the same Black and White.

Maybe the P-8's should be based at RAF Binbrook, because the Lightnings used to be Grey as well.

Were 43's old internal door handles not removed as part of a cost cutting exercise ?
I don't think they were black and white ?

renaming Lossiemouth Leuchars would be far easier, after all they both start with L and both have e, h, s and u. Just think of all that savings
