Flypast question.......
I was hearing recently that there is both the Royal Opening of The Queensferry Crossing and also The Naming of The HMS Prince of Wales Aircraft Carrier on the horizon, I just wondered wether there are likely to be Flypasts for both or either?
Re: Flypast question.......
Don't know for sure, but when the Forth Road Bridge had it's 40th a few years back, the Reds performed a flypast, but it was on the same night they were doing a Tattoo flypast, so they were already in the area.
Re: Flypast question.......
How many aircraft will be involved.
Will they show up on SBS
Will it be a pair
Will they use Leuchars as a fuelstop
Anyone know the serials
Sorry just getting the usual questions over and done with.

Re: Flypast question.......
Cheers for that info, unfortunately I am in Ayr for the Scottish Airshow on Saturday and not Sunday so unless the Reds very kindly perform a flypast either on arrival at Prestwick or on return from Portrush on Saturday my only real chance of seeing them is Monday over the Queensferry Crossing.
Shame they're only performing a Flypast over the Queensferry Crossing and not a full display.

Look on the bright side as you'll see then on Saturday it'll save you asking for the serials on Monday.

They may have cancelled the 3pm FLYPAST but still did one at 6pm, as soon as we had all got on our bus.

Re: Flypast question.......
So now we wait and see wether we get any Flypasts for The Naming of H.M.S. Prince of Wales Carrier on Friday? Seem to remember one for H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth in 2014. So who knows?
Re: Flypast question.......
Anyone know what happened after the Bridge Flypast?
Heard Red 1 calling "Gypo" & then saying something about one group going low level to Prestwick. The Reds did split into 2 formations after the flypast and disappeared off out to the East over the River Forth. A friend at work later said he'd seen the Reds overhead around Peebles, but there was more than 5 aircraft in the formation.

Re: Flypast question.......
They were supposed to go direct to Scampton but cancelled due wx and returned to pik. They then went back to Scampton later in the day.Vandal wrote:Anyone know what happened after the Bridge Flypast?
