Bryan, Its in another section but you have saved me the job of transferring it to Fast & Mean. The actual Pilot in the Lightning was Colin Rae and he was making his last flight in the Lightning before flying civvy airliners.

Thanks for the reply, the roll out video i had was the official one with an awesome laser show. EAP was unvailed to the music of Chariots of Fire! I'm still waiting on news she's being moved to Cosford. I remember the Jag also, looked great in Raspberry Ripple.

Can anyone go to the lecture? I don't live too far away (Fleetwood).

Thinking of going to the mound on Friday if this aweful weather improves!

Thanks for all your help sir, very much appriciated.

To me it's an iconic aircraft and of course paved the way for Typhoon.

Thanks again!

Keep waiting! Was supposed to go over the summer, but there are a lot of delays in getting our replacement airframe. :unsure:

As the title suggests Warton & visiting aircraft for my first post of this new era I have chosen one of the largest Transport aircraft in the world The AN 124 although the video shows an AN 124 landing at Woodford its cargo was the fuselage of a Nimrod XV which when refurbished flew out of Warton.

One of the frequent visitors to Warton in the 1960/1970s was the Guppy and Super Guppy they were used to transport aircraft mainly
Canberras/Jaguars for export to Latin American Countries, ie Venezeula http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLLL_noavn8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Without doubt one of the strangest aircraft to visit Warton. The company of which it is named after had a factory in Burnley, and after
flying over Burnley landed at Warton for fuel.

Over the years there have been a large amount of both piston and jet fighters visiting Warton.

I will start with the iconic Spitfire and what better than PS 915 the mark 19 Spitfire which just missed out on active wartime service but flew in the RAF up to 1954 after that it became a Gate Guardian at Famous RAF Bases. it eventually ended up at BAC Salmesbury in June 1984 where it was refurbished by the companies apprentices. On the 20th November 1986 it flew on its first flight since refurbishment at Warton I was present and if memory serves me right I think Tarnish 7 Keith Hartley was at the controls.
