Re: July 2018
After climbing unrestricted to 19000ft after dep off 25 (1011L) did a number of "runs" over the Fylde on west-east and NNW-SSE tracks with Warton at the "apex". This was until approx 1105L when he remained in Barrow area/M.Bay with one "run" just off cumbrian coast to NNW and return. Seems to like operating over Barrow area (Walney Is). Think one of the BAES M- reg Be200GT Super King Airs based there was used as a target just after dep.chrisward123 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 19, 2018 9:16 am

Re: July 2018
I arrived at Warton at 11.17am this morning the 20th July, 2018 Tarnish 9 had just returned to the circuit and was attacking the airfield target in the Saudi Tornado what a delight it is to see a tornado in a steep dive and climbing away steeply with the RB 199s roaring away and joy of joys Tarnish 9 returning to the
Warton circuit screaming above runway 25 his tornado fully swept at 67 degrees.
I saw the first Warton flight of the Tornado and over the years have seen a lot of memorable flights but one thing that stands out is that I have only ever seen Tarnish 4 Graham Wardell (RIP) and Keith Hartley Tarnish
7 land on runway 26 engage the thrust reverses and actually slow the tornado speed so as to turn left
onto Charlie taxiway without having to backtrack I have never seen any of the current test pilots achieve this feat.
This is a request for info about how long the Warton Tornados may continue flying. Gary Moderator
on Marham Section thoughtfully has the daily legend which decreases every day RAF Tornados
left in service = (25) 258 days left in service GR4 = 22 GR4 (T) =3 But is it the case The Saudi Tornado
will still fly at Warton carrying out updates for the Royal Saudi Airforce

Re: July 2018 20/7 cont/d (Fri)
Twin-seat Typhoon in full 41 TES mks seen on climbout @ 1036L after ILS & t&g 25 c/sign "Typhoon 06". Checking the typhoon fleet listing under CGY subforum, very likely ZK379 l/n 10/7/18 with the TMF;
ZE114 (CS003) WTN09 airborne 1008L & landed 1134L after positioning downwind for initials 1129L & t&g 1131L. Performed 2x dive attacks on airfield target (1121/1123L) then a "loft" attack @ 1126L pulling up at 3 nms out. I suspect that's it for this block of flying and won't be back up for a few weeks now...
Reference "andrew barclay's" post for fri 20/7; there are current rumours that both CS3 & non flying CS6 may both return to KSA possibly for a spares recovery (RTP) programme. As their airframe hrs are obviously high I have always been sceptical of them returning but their use for spares recovery programme makes more sense.
We shall see..
Cheers

WTN09 up in ZE114 (CS003) @ 1409L but not for long. RTB early poss with an ECS issue. Heard inbound to field 1418L but then went back out in a climb to M.Bay area (1420L). Then headed sth to manoevre in the airfield overhead 1424-1427L most likely burning off fuel before landing. Long straight in to land rwy25 @ 1430L.
Any sign of BS150 out for first flt today parked on MTA, please?
Cheers HTH
