IPA 6 ZJ 938

Post by johnhowe » Thu Jul 27, 2017 11:10 pm

I travelled over from The Wirral to attend Brian Mann's lecture on the demise of the TSR 2 I met up with Stuart from Barrow who informed me that a tornado and typhoon had been flying earlier in the morning and were due to repeat the trials later in the afternoon.

At 3.50pm I went to Dizzy Ducks had a nice afternoon tea, rang OPS to be told that a Typhoon was due to fly at about 17.00hrs.

17.15pm IPA 6 ZJ938 rotated from runway 25 for trials most of it was over the Irish Sea or in the Warton overhead.

Back to Brian Mann's lecture on TSR 2 it was very informative and there were a number of films of the TSR 2 flying which have not been seen in the public domain. In the interval Mark Wright gave a presentation on what had been flying at RIAT the previous weekend. It was nice to see all my old buddies especially Neil and Heather.
