Post by johnhowe » Fri Aug 18, 2017 10:48 am

Tonight's lecture is entitled; Memories of The Moor (Holme on Spalding Moor) Flight Testing for The Cold War, it will be given by Denis Morley recently retired Chief Engineer Warton Flight Operations.

Denis will be giving this particular lecture on the 13th, December, 2017 to the Preston Branch of The Royal Aeronautical Society, so some of us can have 2 bites of the cherry.

When the Jaguars were in RAF Service we had a lecture at Warton by pilots from Coltishall who had attended
Red Flag exercises and like the Buccaneers had flown ultra low level sorties over a ten day period over 200 sorties without a hit. Those were the days.

The talk on the 30th, November,2017 at 19.30 is about the Avro Arrow a Canadian project which like the TSR2 was cancelled when its prototype was already flying and showing signs of being a world beater.
