Helos at Warton Tues 12th Jan 16

Post by jetnoise » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:09 pm

Two Sea King HC4s refuelled around lunchtime today - they parked up on the old Nimrod pan. Sorry no ids but both had a large White Ensign / Royal Navy badge on the starboard cabin door (couldn't see the port side).
As they were taxying out about 1pm there was a Lynx Mk9 inbound - that seemed to go to Cargo,

Any additional info very welcome.

Its been very quiet on the based jets so far this year.

The Lynx AH9A was c/sign AAC982 and mode s data gave it as ZE375 (hex code 43C537).
The HC4 "cabs/junglies " were callsign "Avenger" and dep to nth. Nothing noted on mode s for either of these. Their flying days are well and truly numbered now!!
Cheers

The Sea Kings over flew Shawbury but believe they were due to Prestwick. Nothing picked up on PP from Shropshire either !
