Due to other commitments I was unable to visit Warton last week which was heritage week. I understand that a variety of aircraft visited Warton including an Anson and a B2, the B2 was a Biplane built by The Blackburn Company.

Perhaps we could have a more substansive report please.

Log for Thursday the 2nd, October, 2014, I accepted an invitation to visit RFD Beaufort Limited at Birkenhead, what an eye opener this turned out to be they are involved with JSF and Typhoon on safety equipment. just look at their website. www.survitecgroup.com they are involved in so many facets of defence, marine, industrials.

We arrived back at Warton in time to see Tarnish 69 rotating from runway 25 in a two seater Typhoon unfortunately it was.nt on reheat. My friend Jim had worked at Warton for over 40 years on flight safety equipment, it was a bit like a busmans holiday for him

Friday the 3rd, Octoiber, 2014. I arrived just as Royal Saudi Air Force twin seater Typhoon ZK 399 coded 1021 was being pushed back into 358 hangar, although I hugely
admire how our Warton Test Pilots fly these aircraft, its quite interesting to see the how the tug drivers manouvre the Typhoons and other aircraft off the ramp and into the various hangars, also outside 358 was a GR4 Tornado tail code 134.

As there were none of the informed out and about I went to Dizzy Ducks for afternoon tea.

I've had a bit more time to study the Survitecgroup site, what an amazing amount of info is available.

Log for Wednesday Afternoon 8th, October, 2014.

13.50pm R.S.A.F. Typhoon coded 1020 was being towed and reversed into 358 hangar on my arrival.

14.00pm Tarnish 9 in Primer Typhoon rotated off 07 with immediate right turn, as Police 21 was hovering
on exercise east of the Ship Inn on Freckleton Marsh. When Tarnish 9 returned to the Warton Overhead after an extremely low approach
he employed the dynamic features of the Typhoon to good effect.

15.00pm Tarnish 69 in R.S.A.F Typhoon coded 1021 again rotation off 07 with reheat vibrating around the Warton skies by this time it was
cloudy and the EJ 200s were glowing.

Mid afternoon a T1 Hawk XX332 Pirate 11 flew a low level approach before departing to the north.

It would be good to see Tarnish 17 in the air again! Not heard him flying this year. Always puts on a show!

Thanks, Frank. It seemed to be to be a transit as opposed to an approach. Nevermind. How's tricks?

Afternoon log for Wed the 15th, October, 2014.

As I arrived Tarnish 9 was rotating from 07 in a GR4 Tornado after wheels up Tarnish 9 commenced a sharp righthand turn climbing to away from Warton like a scalded cat, one of our well informed correspondents stated that the Tornado was'nt coming back to Warton,

15.00 Royal Saudi Airforce Typhoon 1020 and Royal Saudi Airforce Typhoon 1023 rotated from 07 in a 20 second stream rotation callsign Tarnish 5 & Tarnish 69 but
flying as Tarnish 5 flight.

16.00 Tarnish 5 was first to RTB flew initials into the Warton circuit and flew a low approach with a T & G whilst 5 was in the circuit Tarnish 69 was eight miles out on a
SRA to 07 eventually by 16.10 both Typhoons had landed and taxied back to southside apron.

Quite correct, as ZG775/134 was being delivered to Coningsby as a new aircraft for 41 Sqdn.

From time to time we get spectacular PfAT (Performance Take Offs) at Warton and apart from when Tarnish 5 & Tarnish 17 were practising in IPA 5 ZJ 700 for Fairford and Farnborough I have to rely on you tube videos. This is my alltime favourite by Alessandro Scaburri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqn1kpM3 ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=140ac8manfg The italian Typhoon was clean but IPA 5 had everything apart from the kitchen sink.

I arrived at noon for the afternoon fun.

12.33pm Tarnish 9 in single seater Typhoon ZK 359 taxied along R 25 turned 180 at Granvilles Gate, lined

up adjacent to photographic corner. Revved up the EJ 200s to mil power plugged in the afterburners and

off he went a typical tarnish 9 rotation steep vertical climb rolling inverted at the top and off to test the

Typhoon and its equipment.

Tarnish 9 returned to Warton and flew three SRA into the Warton circuit with a low level transit along 25 before a steep

climb out into the Warton overhead. After the third SRA I thought Tarnish 9 was doing a T & G but instead fooled me

and climbed vertically level with Granvilles Gate I almost fell off the shed verandah as I followed the steep climb on my camera.

but the results are superb.

15.50 Tarnish 5 in IPA 1 ZJ 699 dry rotation off 25 for more trials work on RTB nice transit into Warton overhead before smooth landing.

this morning, what an interesting read about one of my favourite aircraft. Thanks

Short Log for 22nd, At 10.20am I saw a Typhoon overfly Poulton heading towards Warton.

On my arrival a R.S.A.F Typhoon was on the 358 flightline pointing away from the hangar

as was a Primer Typhoon.

Pointing twards 358 Hangar was Typhoon ZK 303 coded AX at 12.27pm Tarnish 69 called
up starting with ground crew, at 12.31 request taxi given 25 at 12.37pm rotated dry from
R25. The rain became heavier so time for early tea.

The other 2 Typhoons were put back in the hangar
