Tornado GR 4 & Harvard over Mersey 5.2.18

Post by johnhowe » Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:22 pm

At 14.08pm today Monday 5th, February, 2018 much to my delight a Tornado GR with wings swept fully back in 67 degree configuration flew down the Mersey past the pier head east to west turned at Perch
Rock, New Brighton, lets say it was flying low level at approx. 400 knots. 30 minutes later a more sedate Harvard flew down the Mersey in the opposite direction heading towards John Lennon Airport.

Ah you mean ACL Sea in port now
and ACL Sail Star and Sun, I saw Atlantic Conveyor on her final cargo voyage before going for scrap to India.

PS When do we get the really big boats to Liverpool 2.

Pirate 24 is an FAC callsign is there an FAC Exercise on this week.

Hah, Don't you mean WILL we get the big boats for L2???

I believe they are struggling to get the post-panamax vessels to justify the extra bunkerage costs to divert up here from the South coast. The lines that operate them are already firmly entrenched darn sarth...

You forgot Atlantic Sky.. Its a real shame that the Conveyor name wasn't kept in the name of UK maritime history
