Swordfish due tomorrow , 24th !

Post by David Thompson » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:24 pm

Have just picked this up on the Air Britain forum . Hope it's not too late and that someone can get to see her ;

Just a note, in case anyone is nearby and hasn't already heard, but RNHF's Swordfish II LS326 is due to visit Sherburn Aero Club at Sherburn-in-Elmet tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon before going on to Brough. This rare event is the first time that LS326 has been to her birthplace for over a decade and so shouldn't be missed.

Crew will be Lieutenant Simon Wilson and AETs Connell and Robertson. Oh, and "Thundercat" - if anyone goes, ask about him!

Just heard on the scanner about an aircraft taking off, thought i'd look on here first as i thought they stopped all the flights, then saw your message. Was going to depart Brough now (1015), but just heard that the flight has been delayed until 12-1230 approx, i'm gutted because i'm on a late at work and won't be able to see her!!! Hopefully someone will be able to post some pics!! Thanks in advance.

The engine was a reluctant starter at Sherburn, so it was delayed arriving and departing from Brough (4pm-ish ?)
Brough site has a long history rebuilding airframes for the FAAHAF, starting with W5856, VR931, LS326 wings and currently back on W5856.
