Brough Gate Guard Hawk

Post by igorski » Fri Sep 10, 2010 10:46 am

Is the HAWK 'AJT' gate guardian a mockup or an actual aircraft (and if so which one?)

Thanks!

It's LL-5313, a Hawk Mk.53, ex Indonesian Air Force.

Thanks Chris. Im guessing this is the one featured in the BAE 'AJT' publicity (eg http://cavok.com.br/blog/wp-contents/up ... nes-hi.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) following an upgrade to 100 series at some point? And if the above imagary is not simulated, surely a UK reg is needed?

No, it is purely an old airframe "mocked up" to resemble the latest 128 series variant (even down to noselight, ariels, etc.) in the corpoarte colour scheme going around at the time. The guys did a really good job too !

Was searching the web and found your forum and post relating to the Gate Guardian at Brough.
If you need any information on this one just let me know. I was the project leader who restored the aircraft and put it on its mounting back in July 2005.

Cheers

PRB :D
