Merlin landing in York

Post by Peted » Mon Sep 30, 2013 1:59 pm

Seen today 15h00 circling low over York - RAF Merlin with ramp & wheels down.
Looks as if trying to land at Bootham Hospital on the temporary Heli pad in the field, or a recce for future perhaps, but did several circuits before departing north west.

Lots of Merlin visitors to the Impahl (Army) Barracks in Fulford, often landing in pairs departing 20 mins or so later. My office window faces towards their landing flightpath. I think they might be moving offices (to Strensall). Gradually, I'm training my office the difference between Merlins and Chinooks (which land here as well)!!!! Is it wrong for them to call their boss a geek?
