Re: Busy Linton
A part log of visitors from 1100 to 1215
C295M - 0454 CzAF (arr 1200L)
Alpha Jet - ZJ646 QinetiQ
Merlin ZJ118/B and ZJ124/H
Chinook HC.2 ZA713 plus an HC.3 (poss ZH898)
ZA713 and ZJ124 departed in formation at 1145 - ZJ118 had been hangared by 1200. The helos were doing "experience flights" for trainees apparently.
support with the gaps / extras welcome as always!

Re: Busy Linton
Chinook ZH898 overshot Brize Norton at 11.30 so I doubt that was your frame.
Re: Busy Linton
Rob. thanks for the elimination.
Parked awkward for the pole, but the a/c was an uncoded HC.3, definately a ZH8.. serial with a rounded last numeral, so 899 now the probable candidate. Unfortunately the local SBS logs have not picked up the Linton traffic, except the Czech. Chairman's rules?
Guys there reckoned to have shot everything with their mega lenses "and would have no probs with the serials" ... Waiting....

Re: Busy Linton
Two Chinooks and two Merlins on the PAN all day yesterday while I was there on a course up there. The Vigilants of 642 looked dwarfed next to them!
Cheers

Re: Busy Linton
to close the loop on the Chinooks, ZA713 and ZH896 have been noted operating from Linton frequently since the 20th. Among other notings, they were seen over south Teesside twice on 30th September and id'd by SBS.
