What some folk don’t realise is that the clause in the lease of the landowner originally stated that if the RAF left the land which the airfield is on including all runways taxi ways etc has to be returned to agriculture and they say it’s a cost saving measure...yeh right!

Probably a common or similar clause in most situations but how may are still rotting away after years of closure?

Just get a private contractor to dig up all the concrete for hardcore HS2/Heathrow 3rd runway etc , that way its done with no cost to tax payer (well in theory at least)

hi
well the south is going to get the absolute lunacy that north of the border has had to endure, we have lost most of our airfields ,etc and commercial bans on military aircraft using civilian airfields eg Edinburgh while our so called competitors rebuild and expand their military, totally unjustified and short on strategic planning.

hi
i suppose its one way to find the money to pay for the f35s its a pity we don't have the industry to make our own aircraft,
it seems spares for the 35 are difficult to come by, nothing like home produced kit, Britian first should be the policy.
