No, no it isn't: http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articl ... al-405203/
Ascent says instruction using the new aircraft will be delivered at the RAF’s Barkston Heath and Cranwell air bases with the G120TP (above), at RAF Valley with the T-6C and at Cranwell with the Phenom 100 (below). Affinity will also provide associated ground-based training devices and courseware under the arrangement.

Linton has been on the Chopping Block for ages the only reason it hasn't and correct me if i'm wrong but the Tucano wouldn't relocate to Valley for the simple reason that pilots cannot wear an immersion suit in the aircraft, making Valley wholly unsuitable for Tucano ops from the station but no such issue for the T-6 Texan.

Its not just that, its also the fact that maintenance of these aircraft are all carried out by civilian contractors and when I worked at Linton through the 90s, there wasn't a man there that would move to valley, it's a S£&%hole was the term used I believe, so there is no local workforce. It could be that Linton could be a service and maintenance base, but then so could anywhere else. It would be sad to see it close but they have been saying that for years. A lot can change in 6 years as it looks like we are entering a new cold war era with Russia pushing its luck. we shall see.

After chatting with the Parish Councillor the villagers are worried extremely about this news.. with 60% of the school children are from the Base along with the Villagers who work at the base - the local economy will be decimated if they move out so they intend putting up a large fight against the base closure

Nowhere has it been stated that Linton is CLOSING.

Just because UK military flying training may get concentrated at Valley, there may still be numerous MoD uses for Linton in the future.

Can you imagine the chaos in the traffic pattern too, with the different speeds of the different aircraft beating the circuit?

Pretty sure the Tucano can keep up with the Hawk in the circuit, so the Texan II should have no issues whatsoever.

Regardless, have you heard the term "variable circuit direction" before? ;)

Remember Valley has the RLG at Mona that could take the Tucano for normal flying with the aircraft returning to Valley at the end of the day
