That would explain the Hawks formation flying over Wetherby this morning.

The NOTAM'ed area includes the Vale of York from west of Darlington in the north down to Wetherby in the south and should be an impressive sight .
There might be some VIP visitors to watch out for too ?

Now getting conflicting dates of 20-30 March for the Typhoons into Leeming, I'm trying very hard to get the correct info as I type. It never rains! Sorry if this is an inconvenience to one and all, I can assure you it is for me too! I do try my best for the good of this site so please no abuse

Turned out the NOTAM was for a simulated base attack. The Hawks were running in at 100 feet simulating strafing attacks and shows of force ect..! Four Hawks were airborne under the Aggressor CS and worked under the guidance of callsign <Gunshot 14>.... They ran in as pairs, and recovered as four ship at the end....Good to watch!

Still no Joint warrior 17-01 activity for Leeming, unfortunately mdobuk21 (Mark), not being a religious geeza, I dont believe in miracles. Let's stay positive and keep our fingers crossed for Joint Warrior 17-02 in October .............I really do hope so.

Won't get there Saturday so I paid a visit on Tuesday morning, NOTHING! Unless one counts a Hawk being towed by the AA. Looked like a couple of visiting Hawks, maybe in case of breakdowns, so the nine plane (I refuse to call them ships or kites) display can take place. Quietest morning I since before the hard shelters were built.
