March 18th promises to be an interesting day, with a sunset flypast. Hope the days are long by then, as we have a home match.

March 18th is not in the JW exercise period - any idea what the reason for the flypast is, and what aircraft are taking part?

I may be barking up the wrong tree but 18th March falls a few day's short of 100 Sqn, 100th anniversary of when they shipped off to France and the Western Front. http://www.100squadronassociation.org.u ... formation/

Think he's trying to say that Leeming will not pay a part in JW 17-1.

Spot on, MMRT many thanks.

RAF Leeming will NOT be used for Ex Joint Warrior 1 2017 that doesn't mean RAF Leeming won't have visitors but that's no different to the rest of the year

There are other things on the cards for early February - March but I'm not at liberty to specifically mention what they are atm.

Unfortunate news regarding JW1, this has become a tradition for me for the past two years! Hopefully we receive a deployment running alongside JW, like we have in the past?

Would that include the visitors from Lincolnshire by any chance ?

Close Air Support Exercise at Spadeadam 30-Jan through to 2nd Feb could involve the rotary assets.

That would make sence, earlyer I heard some 494thFS F15Es calling ZAPPER71flt heading to Spadeadam
Just had a look at the timings and they don't match to when I heard them ,maybe it was a dry run before returning later ??

Does anyone know if they are expecting any Fast Jets at Lossiemouth during JW-17-2?
