The alphas were sat on the pan at 0700 on Tuesday morning so must have arrived on Monday - apologies I was otherwise engaged today to be able to post.

One of them appeared to be wearing special marks on the tail consisting of some writing in white under what appeared to a white bird and there appeared to be some light brown/sandy camouflage on the lower part of the tail

Hi All
With my description of the decorated Alpha Jet this morning, and me having found a picture on the net of said described aircraft carrying the code 120-FO, Mr Ford made an educated guess/supposition that the aircraft will be E81...coded ???-FO, and this would tie up to the details in the notes in Aerodata, the ??? will either be 120- or 8- as the letters don't change on the FAF aircraft but the unit code is changing back to the base code(or the other way round)...

Anyone know if there are still at Leeming this afternoon?

One flew over Grasmere heading for Dunmail Raise behind a 100 Sqn Hawk about 11:30 on Monday.-EDIT I mean Tuesday !!!
I was on base today and parked near the flightline but tail-on so couldn't identify them. The one with the special tail marks flew a mission early afternoon, so hopefully the locals will have photographed or identified them........please !!!

8-FO is the special tail aircraft, it has SPA65 on the tail also. The other one is 8-RQ, couldn`t see other markings as the back end was hidden by a Hawk.

In my haste I though it read 8-FD and may have been 8-FO but had SPA57 on the top of the tail for sure
