Saw two overfly Leeming headed NW yesterday afternoon.
Two more this morning headed SE followed by a Typhoon headed N about 15 mins later. Nice change from the usual Hawks!

It's because they are banned from Mach loop at the moment!

Why are they banned from the loop?
Re: Wed 22 June F-15s
From what I have heard the Local MP has clocked that aircrew have been asking for photos and making multiple passes.
Jet noise for training is one thing but upsetting locals for pictures is another.
presume the USAF is keeping its heads down while the dust settles

Re: Wed 22 June F-15s
I'd very much imagine the training missions are planned down to the exact route and flight path rather than some random jolly unplanned afternoon aviating wherever they choose to go ad-hoc. Otherwise there is no value in the training. Whilst well known photos are taken, that will not be the reason for the mission.
Re: Wed 22 June F-15s
You have far too much imagination - or lack of!
Obviously they haven't been on unplanned jollys "aviating wherever they choose to go ad-hoc".
But it doesn't mean that crews haven't been gravitating to the loop - - doing a couple of circuits then asking for photos.
Might be well planned and might not be the reason for the mission but still not politically acceptable for the locals or for one of the local MPs
Anyway the cat is out of the bag and it will be interesting to see what happens in the loop from now on

Send everything back up near the Harrogate Lakes area as it`s known. Not as much around as there used to be!
