REQ: Viewing at Doncaster Airport

Post by Stan » Wed Aug 26, 2015 7:44 pm

Folks,

I intend to scuttle over to Doncaster after work tomorrow afternoon, in the hope of catching the Vulcan returning from Lakenheath. Haven't photographed there since RAF days; where are the suggested spots these days? Cheers.

If your after it retuning then looking at the weather runway 20 will be in use which means the best place to be would be on the east side of the runway at the end of Old Bawtry Road. Here's a link to the viewing guide.

If you drive from the village of Finningley to the end of Old Bawtry Road you'll pass the airport fire station and then come to a large area for parking. This is location A on the linked guide.

Hope that makes sense.

Lee.
