The Meteor stands close to the 202 E Flight HQ and I'm pretty sure that the Whirlwind met it's end on the Leconfield fire-dump before the Army School of Transport built their driving range over it .

I have managed to find the Meteor. It is located in an open ended hangar at the following location with no view from the outside

53.877315,-0.445279

Does anyone have any info on the Whirlwind? If it is still here or not?

No , I don't believe so ?
Edit ; have just checked Wrecks & Relics 18 of 2002 and it reports 'tendered and scrapped during early 2001 .'

This is nothing to do with either aircraft mentioned here but the thread reminded me of a Whirlwind at the back of Sibson airfield near Peterborough during the late '80s.
I had the daft idea to buy it and save it for posterity. Needless to say, I didn't. :(
