Looks like a C17 and Hercules could be at Wittering tonight......

Depends on the flypast route, and how close you want too be. I would park in the village, walk back to the A1and then north towards the main gate (there's a footpath) and watch from there, or alternatively you could stay in the village and watch from the football fields for a wider view.

Thanks:) I was thinking of going across from the runway a bit further up but may just go to the playing field:)

I wouldn't cross the A1, there was a fatal accident on the stretch between Carpenters Lodge and the main gate within the last week, and people are a bit twitchy about pedestrians on the southbound side.

I thought of the main gate as previously it's been used as a waypoint for the officers mess for flypasts.

Why? according to the notam they're due between 18.30 and 19.05.
