You're not the only one mate. Funny how a machine can reduce a grown man to tears.PeteHemsley wrote:actually shed a tear

If air & ground crews haven't yet clocked off, can Air Traffic slot them in for a re run before dusk?

Thats it then...........I shed a tear, along with many others.
I salute the pilots and crews of one of the most iconic aircraft to grace our skies and defended this once great nation and freedom of our brothers in far off lands.
A fantastic aircraft that is going to be missed in more ways than one.

A sad day at Cottesmore, unbelievable finale with all the jets switching off their engines at the same time and all the pilots and groundcrew being clapped away from the jets.
Well done Gary Waterfall and the rest for putting to bed one of this country's greatest inventions.
RIP JFH; have a beer on me.
(Nice to meet you Dave, did I hear right about the Chinese and the Harrier )

Yes, they all got airborne but it was agreed, as part of the briefing, that if the cloudbase was too low it would be binned, as they descended through the cloud in formation it must have been deemed to be too dodgy to proceed, so it was called off. Life's a beech at this time of year isn't it.
