The RC-135s are ZZ664, ZZ665 and ZZ666. The E-3D that you are missing is ZH107 and the only Sentinel that has been operating lately is ZJ694.

Some late additions to Wednesday:

Resident movements:
Defender AL1 ZG998 651 Sqd AAC ("Army Air 525")
Shadow R1 ZZ504 14 Sqd ("Snake 54")
Sentry AEW1 ZH106 8 Sqd ("NATO 32")
Sentinel R1 ZJ694 5 Sqd ("Snapshot 01")

Visitors (low approaches/touch-and-goes):
Tutor T1 G-BYUN 16 [R] Sqd ("Cranwell 31")
Hercules C6 ZH866 206 [R] Sqd (special markings "206 Sqd 100 Years") ("??? 56")

BTW with Runway 02 in use most of the time, I was wondering if viewing is still possible at the 02 threshold? You used to be able to drive from the B1178 down a very rough and muddy track to a crash gate, and move onto an adjacent field to get shots of aircraft on approach to 02. Is this still possible following the runway resurfacing?

Hi

Herc ZH866 is the C6 prototype - major software updates - has been operating from Boscombe - I *suspect* the callsign would be GAUNTLET 56 but maybe wrong.

Thanks Yammer.

I have amended my post accordingly ... the call sign certainly didn't sound like "Gauntlet" but my old ears might have deceived me!

Grahame w, you can still go to the 02 end down the rough track but the bushes along the fenceline have now started to grow out quite a bit so you might have to fight your way through a few of them to get toward the approach field. You can still just get through though. I really like the 02 end as its out of the way from the idiots speeding along the A15 and also if you go around the field and stand to the side of the approach lights the ground is slightly raised giving a good view across the airfield.

Cheers
Martin

Thanks for that Martin. Yes, that location is a favourite of mine also, although I must admit to being a bit nervous driving down the track, particularly if there's been a lot of rain!
