XM607

Post by RichBro » Fri Nov 25, 2016 10:34 am

Had a short visit to the station yesterday which included a vist to the excellent Heritage Centre and a close look at XM607. Not sure when I last saw the aircraft, but how sad to see the extent of deterioration in many places. Only to be expected as subject to all the elements. It will cost a great deal of money to restore, and if that is at all possible, where can it be then be housed to prevent the same thing happening again?
Like most items of this nature it requires a generous benefactor or some sort of public subscription. No doubt the Heritage Centre is aware, but a very large undertaking for anyone.
Such a shame for an aircraft with its Falklands history.

Glad to hear it John, but another winter to get through. I understand what you say, but it still looks pretty shabby close up.
