Re: Runway
With the power setting used and a light fuel load, plenty of runway available; (bear in mind it will also need accel stop distance availability [ASDA] in light of a severe malfunction prior to V1).

Re: Runway
Two thirds of the runway length is enough for all of the aircraft to use, with the exception of the RJ. However, they won't be bringing all aircraft back until the works are complete.
Re: Runway
The following article on BBC Lincolnshire updates the situation regarding the runway works.

Re: Runway
It took them almost 2 years from 1955 to 1957 to get the airfield ready for the Vulcans (although I don't remember the exact dates).
If its going to be late, well then its late.

Re: Runway
"Ding Ding, all aboard the totally surprised Bus".
Who, apart from the most naive, would have expected a MoD overseen, privately operated project, run on time, to spec and within budget (bearing in mind the unforeseen pipeage and weather consequences leading to potential spec changes and financial issues involved).
Radical.
Interesting to see the risk mitigation and contingencies that now come into play.

Re: Runway
It's a good job that there isn't a war on.
Of course, I mean not in Lincolnshire. here comes that bus
Sunday 14th briefing.
I see that the privatised aircrew training is 6 years behind, too. Partly due to a lower requirement for aircrew, so I read from a BBC bulletin on another FC thread.
Anyone out there with Project Management training?
