Sort of, base closed until 1200 local. Can be dead up until 1600 local and sometimes later, all depends on whose on nights.

Hmmm, what about the German presence, or will the first day be a down day for briefings etc?

There is a Notam out for the exercise in the North Sea which states the exercise Dates as next week Tuesday,Thursday and Friday.
Week after Monday Wednesday and Friday.
That said last year the Germans also flew in less numbers and non exercise sorties on the other days.

German Tornados had a morning off from the exercise last year as we had 4 Tornados low over the village! As I'm an avgeek & proud of it! Neighbours were messaging me why are there jets flying over our village Gareth!! ;-) hope it happens again! As that was the last time it happened!

I think they talk about en masse more .... however well worth a visit if you can make it, I went last Thursday and wasn't disappointed. Made a change from grey grey unmarked Typhoons (at least the German Typhoons (Eurofighters whatever they call them) have squadron markings and codes).

would it be worth a trip on Thursday 13th ? Or is a full day on Friday and not a midday finish ?
