Coningsby German EF2000s
I remember reading in this section something about German EF2000s to Coningsby during this month .
Have not seen anything subsequent to this post so wondering was it just a wild rumour or is there more info known .
TIA regards.

There's now one down for static at Scampton air show, which pretty much confirms it, I'd say. September was the rumour, I thought.

Re: Coningsby German EF2000s
Just departed. Heard talk of an A400 in tomorrow.
Re: Coningsby German EF2000s
Typhoons in before the weekend but no timings as yet
Re: Coningsby German EF2000s
how long are they here for? they have brought enough equipment with them to stay for some time.
Re: Coningsby German EF2000s
I don't believe the A400 turned up yesterday and I have seen nothing showing for today. I have heard the Typhoons may be arriving around the middle of next week. As I understand the example listed for static at Scampton will be one of these aircraft then presumably it will be on or before next Friday.
Last time they were here for two weeks but only flew in the mornings on Mon, Wed and Fri if i recall. One of these mornings was scrubbed due to weather and they didn't schedule in an extra sortie. No idea if they will be following a similar routine this time but if so, opportunities to get them flying may be surprisingly limited. Having said that I have also heard they may be here to the end of the month but that is only hearsay. Time will tell.

with the amount of equipment they have I wouldn't be surprised if they are here until October. I did hear they will be arriving next week also.
Re: Coningsby German EF2000s
I spoke with the crew during RIAT at Fairford about their deployment. They said that they plan to arrive at Coningsby on the 08th of September. They didn't want to be accurate on the duration of their stay, only mentioned that they expect to be back at Laage by the 03rd of October (which is a national holiday in Germany). They also mentioned that it might be a mix of units as the German Eurofighters (note that there are no German Typhoons as the word has a poisend history in the Air Force) as the aircraft are pooled for deployments to get aircraft of the same standard level for it.
