Mike Pugh-Davies joined the RAF in 1976 after gaining a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University. He trained as a navigator and flew in Canberra, Phantom and Tornado aircraft. As a NATO evaluator he has flown in a number of other front-line aircraft. During his carreer as an RAF officer, he held a variety of flying and staff appointments around the world.

He has served on operations in the Falkland Islands, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Qatar. He has filled a variety of staff appointments in both the RAF and NATO.
Mike is no stranger to the Royal Air Force and especially at RAF Cranwell his last job being an instructor in the Air Warfare Centre.

Mike retired from the RAF as a squadron leader after 36 years of service. He gained a masters degree in Air Power Studies from the University of Birmingham in 2012 and has lectured on a range of aviation history subjects.

The final talk of the 2015 aviation lecture season to be held at Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre is illustrated and titled THE ANATOMY OF A BOMBER COMMAND RAID 1944 and looks at the activities that supported the Main Bomber Force operation.

The lecture will be in the WW2 gymnasium at the Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre on Wednesday, 28th October 2015, beginning at 7.30pm

Admission is £5.00 to visitors to include refreshments but is free to members of Friends of Metheringham Airfield and veterans of 106 Squadron.
