Would be nice if they gave us the chance to shoot 1 or 2 at this event, if your theory is correct. Sounds good though.

Was a rumour of twelve! Turning up on one day - sounds unlikely but not too long to wait

We were told there would be no big arrival. Whether plans have changes or they are hoping to limit the number outside the base by people hearing of multiple arrivals dates.

They also mentioned due to the F-35B fuel capacity or lack of it. They were looking at only 4 F-35 per tanker on the first trail. So the RAF would have to have 3 tankers available to do it themselves. It was reported when the B's came over for RIAT, they need 16 AR per aircraft for the whole trail.

Should just stick them on HMS Queen Elizabeth and boat them over

Probably be faster in the long run

The RAF's new equipment, deemed more reliable than an F-35

The following link to the new RAF website may help to reduce the speculation as to what is happening with F-35B's later this year:-

lets not forget the 48 F35Bs on order are for the Carriers as much as anything else.
You compare the F35B to the Harrier and the F35B is better in every aspect really,Range ,Payload ,Weapons load,Sensors ,Stealth.Bring back Capability.

You can't compare it against the Tornado, The Typhoon is replacing that.

Possibly not, during a visit last year they indicated it's likely they come in dribs and drabs. As low as 4 has been mentioned for the first arrival. You'd expect them to make a big deal with the arrival so would hope more than 4.

The RAF have 14? With a new jet arriving every 2 to 3 months. So in theory should have 16 by June. Some with no doubt stay with 17(R) (min 3?) and OCU (again min3?) . That would put a maximum of 10 available to relocate
Late last year, I heard that 617 were due to arrive at Marham on 3rd August but that had changed as they wanted the F35's across here for the RAF100 at RIAT. The number of jets also was anywhere between 4 and 9. It appears highly unlikely they will be here for 21st June but my info is quite old so time will tell.

There was talk of them arriving on or in time for the Op Chastise anniversary, but last year the station were expecting the first arrival on 31st May, not heard or read any update about that.

I've cancelled my two tickets, can't get time off work.

Hopefully someone on here gets to go in place!

Indeed sunset for 21 June in nearby King's Lynn is at 2126 with twilight finishing at 2217. Very nearly the longest day.
