I've had the same confirmation email stating that: It will now be 13.00 – 17.00 on camp which will also (hopefully) include seeing some of the visiting aircraft depart. It goes on to state that a full itinerary will be sent closer to the day identifying what aircraft will be available to photograph. So, we are unlikely to know for some time what will be on base and available. Lets hope for some interesting visitors and good weather.

I'm not really bothered "what else" could turn up. I'm going to photograph Tornado on a Tornado base. Quite probably the last chance the general public will get. Make the most of those tonka's. Time is slipping away

How right you are. Let's hope that Marham are mindful that, for many, the Tornado is THE main interest.

Same here to be fair - the Tornado's are the attraction for me and this could be one of the last chances for a trip like this so Tornado's all the way!!

While it will be great to be able to photograph all the Tornado's. I'am sure there will be enough runway to show all the Tornado's and still have enough room for a couple of the F35 new boys. Or anything else they may have tucked away. Might as well have our cake and eat it if we can. ! :thumb:

Taken from an Email:

I am pleased to say that I have been given authority by our Media and Comms team to release what will be on offer at the Enthusiasts’ Day, 21st June.

On static display alongside the RAF100 Tornado GR4 (tail number 129) will be a Spitfire provided by BBMF and, Marham’s first public appearance on static display of a F-35 Lightning. I’m sure you’re as excited as I am to see all of these iconic aircraft together and you will have the opportunity to take photos initially at range followed by getting up a little closer for individual shots.

On top of this, there will be some station flying on Tornados and Lightning and requests have gone out for other aircraft to make an appearance. As always pending serviceability!

They are supposed to have another 5 arriving before August. I doubt they'll come over as singles.

Cant agree at the moment mate. I'm hoping it's a typo or all we get is 3 aircraft to photograph, and no mention of access (although i assume there will be some) of the Victor and Tonka guards that i seemed to remember being promised in an earlier mail.

I hope we get a very large fistful of Tonkas being made available for shooting. fingers crossed.

If you read it properly, the initial shooting will be at a slight range, then close ups for individual shots. Most likely be in a decent spot for airborne stuff. If you don’t like it, cancel your spot because I am sure there are others out there more willing to attend. Nothing about the guards was mentioned. Also, it depends on the amount of Tornados that are fit to be shown. Last years event had 4 GR4’s there to shoot. I would be more than happy to see the same and a couple F-35’s with some flying. Bare in mind that this time next year, there won’t be this opportunity ever again.

Hi,

yes , read it properly.

it clearly states 1 x tonka, 1 x spitfire and 1 x f-35
it says there should be flying as well from tonkas and F-35's

it does not mention anything about other tornados on the ground for the shoot, apart from 129 the 100th anniversary jet. simples!

Which is why i think it is a typo or something, and never once did i say i didnt like it.

That sounds good enough to me. It wouldn’t be a typo, and they won’t tell you every single thing that is there. The GR4 won’t be there much longer so we’re lucky to see them so close.

It seemed to be a moan, hence the reply.

I would not be pinning any hopes on a large amount of Tornado's being available as there's just not that many left now, but happy to be proven wrong :thumb:

Regarding the gate guard stuff not sure on that, if i remember correctly from last year we was told not to even take pictures of them from the coach when driving by?

Looking forward to next week, it seems like ages ago since the first emails went out and its gradually been creeping along and now its nearly here.
Hopefully we get a decent spot to the west of 01/19 for some pics and some sun would be nice

Bit of pain in the morning on that car park.....mine you it was expected as all along people were saying the organisation was pretty poor.
Back to the enthusiasts day, last year we waited quite a while for the coach after the first one went. There's going to be a scrum this time :D
