KC135 landed Friday 15 June approx 1735

Post by Scimiitry » Sat Jun 16, 2018 7:20 am

Hello just wondering if anyone has details of the KC135 that landed at Mildenhall at around 1735L on Friday 15th June please? I was stuck on a bit if traffic heading from Mildenhall to Beck Row not far from the runway threshold so had a lovely view of it on approach (20 seconds later and I'd have been right underneath it!) It looked like it had a pale blue fin flash and black markings along the fuselage - would it have been a New Hampshire ANG machine? Quite a few fellow spotters lucky enough to be on the ground as I passed - was that for this arrival or did anything else interesting arrive yesterday afternoon/evening?! Thanks in advance for any info.

This would have been KC-135R 57-1430, c/s Clean12.

That's lovely, thank you for the replies. I drove past the base this morning and saw the fin but it looked like it had a different flash on the stbd side!

I was there in case the Texas vipers diverted in

I would have needed a good lens as they were a 100 miles away at FL280!

Haha I met some friendly Taiwanese photographers at the Zaragoza tiger meet two years ago - their lens were so large they looked like they were all playing the trombone when a jet flew over. Seriously well off financially.
