Mildenhall 17/3 pm

Post by slogen51 » Sat Mar 17, 2018 4:48 pm

58-0063 is parked down by beck row at 16:45 and readable from St. John's Street

Also side on from Folly road.

Looks like a 92 ARW tail but I think it has 914 on the boom

Unmarked 328th ARS/ 914th ARG, Niagara AFRC machine.
First time visit to Mildenhall since recently receiving the KC-135R.

ANG noted on the tail from its previous owners, New Hampshire ANG.
Here we go........ The Devils Knockin' at my door!

Great thanks

My excuse is that it was snowing when I looked from Folly road

A good one for me

It diverted in, every cloud has a silver lining

If it is any consolation to you, Mike, the "Fairchild" and "New Hampshire" fin tip markings do look a bit similar from a distance - white lettering on blue.

Don't need it myself - saw it too many years ago at the 'Hall when it was with 320BW.
Cheers, Bob

Made it at its then home base of Mather AFB when with 320 BW on 07/04/1983.

Lo and behold only ten days later I noted it at Fairford when on detachment, still there on 08/05/1983.

My 677th tanker , 10 operational c-135 to go.

I made a bad mistake re the fin tip marking - there seems to be a lot of tankers with just an outlined grey fin tip - I thought that was also used by the 92 ARW! But looking at photos of other 92nd tankers I can see the now familiar colourful Fairchild tail fintip ( and from a distance in the snow ang looked like amc)

Don't go to the pub and then try and read off tails.

You must be taking notes?

Has it happens I did think carefully but it was nearly three hours and a lunch between my last pint and getting in the car - I think I was ok so I drove.
