Regarding The Mound:

Where is there a good place to park nearby to walk to it?

I will be visiting Mildenhall next Wednesday and would also welcome walking directions to the mound.
I have been to Folly Road several times before and wonder if its possible to park the car there and walk to the mound or is it best to park in the village and walk from there?

cheers,
Gerry

Guys - its a good point, I will amend the guide to include these (forgot to originally!)

Im a bit bogged down in exams at the moment, so if one of the regulars could explain, it would be greatly appreciated!

umm, not sure if this is gonna be useful as a guide, am useless at directions. If approaching from Mildenhall town side when driving round to the end of the runway there is a carpark on the left hand side of the road of the road. just after this is a large tree and after that is a smallish grass area with a path leading off into a wooded area, you can pull off the road here and park. The path leads through to the mound. Does this make any sense??

I think I know where you mean - I've noticed some cars pulled up on the grass verge several times and figured that's where Mound dwellers used.

Just wondered if there was a more practical place for Mound parking - the industrial estate perhaps.

Is that 'Nook's Campsite' still open here, if so what's the postcode for satnav please?

Can you go in as a day visitor, not actually pitching a tent or anything? Or anywhere else good/better for photos at Mildenhall?

Is the trailer back yet? Also, are the toilet facilities still closed? Many thanks.
