F15 Missing Man Formation
F15 Missing Man Formation
This morning at about 1030 I saw four F15's flying low in 'Missing Man' formation over Thetford Forest. Haven't heard of any tragedies recently so maybe for a ceremony at Madingly Cemetary perhaps. Anyone know more?

When you say formation. Did one Pull up into a climb? if not then it might just of been them returning to LN in Finger Four Formation?

No not that. They were flying straight and level in line abreast with a gap between number three and four. Seen it before several times so I know what it is.

Re: F15 Missing Man Formation
That'll be the ceremonial "Loose Finger Four" formation normally flown when the outer aircraft leaves enough room for another man between him & the rest!
The RAF refer to it as the 'Missing-Bus' formation 'coz you could fit one in the gap!
