Are these still at LN? If they are any word on an ETD?
Re: CA ANG F-15's
Yes they are and their support tankers should arrive today to take them away some time this week.

Re: CA ANG F-15's
A little dicky bird told me Wednesday this week, might(MIGHT)!!! be their departure day. A Really early start ,"So I have heard" perhaps as early as 08.00 hrs.
Don't shoot the messenger though, and good luck if you go...
Oh the games people play now
Re: CA ANG F-15's
I, too, have heard Wednesday, though no time mentioned. Looks like they are going home rather than to Finland - as Scramble SIS had posted.......and now deleted.
We will have to wait for the ALTRV to be posted to see what the ETD is likely to be.

Saw four fly yesterday in indifferent light and have seen reports of two launching just after midday today.

Hi yes had two bits at the cherry Wed/Thurs, enough is enough on this lot!!
Thanks for info tho
Re: CA ANG F-15's
Sorry to hear about your efforts mate, and their cancellations...its all a risk going there. I'm not going to give any more departure information out, that I receive.
This is why perhaps lots of people won't say anything and are tight lipped about movements (they end in cancellations) ...JB

its the nature of the beast as they say, you can not be lucky every time
Re: CA ANG F-15's
Jaybee, your info was spot on: the tankers turned up at Mildenhall all ready to drag the F-15's to Iceland on Wednesday - it's hardly your fault that one or more of the KC-10s went u/s and/or that the weather between the UK and Iceland deteriorated such that in the event of a ditching by one if the pilots a rescue would have been unfeasible. Please keep posting info if you get it (with any caveats you like), people like me appreciate it (even though I was one of those who made the journey across to the Heath today in the hope that the CA's would move ).jaybee wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 5:03 pmSorry to hear about your efforts mate, and their cancellations...its all a risk going there. On the topic of sea state between UK and Iceland, it is forecast by NOAA to get even worse over tomorrow and Saturday (waves up to 6 metres high), so regardless of whether the KC-10's are serviceable, I would be surprised if the CA's depart before Sunday or even Monday.

Re: CA ANG F-15's
I'll echo Alisdair's comments above. Everyone on the forum is well aware of the 'risks' associated with the hobby - that is to say nothing is ever certain. We all know that a decision to go up to the bases in the hope of catching something specific has a high chance of failure for a multitude of reasons. So even with the best of 'intel' from people in the know, we accept that there is a good chance that the said aircraft of interest won't turn up, won't depart, is broken, etc.
So if you have info on expected/planned movements and are happy to share, please continue to do so. If the day doesn't pan out as we'd hoped - that's just the nature of the hobby! I certainly appreciate all the info and heads up that are shared on FC.

Iceland?
Isn't the Altrv for an Atlantic crossing...And why would they need 2 tankers for a journey they could do without them...?
