Czech MOD confirm that both B-1Bs and B-52s will be involved in AMPLE STRIKE and operating from England.

Did I read that correct 25/26 May the date taking part?

But if you look at the dates mentioned in the article above it shows - 25/26 May.

S ANGLE
PRESS AND INFORMATION CENTER
AMPLE STRIKE 2017
Date: April 26, 2017
Topic: Ample Strike 2017 International Exercise
A major planning conference on Ample Strike 2017 was held on April 25 and 26, 2017. In addition to the Steering Committee, representatives from 14 Alliance and Partner Countries also attended the assembly. Within two days, the flight and ground plan of the exercise, the conditions of logistics and other necessary issues to ensure a smooth exercise were carefully discussed.
The Ample Strike 2017 International Tactical Exercise will be implemented on the basis of Government Resolution No. 1172 of 19 December 2016 and will run from 23 August to 12 September 2017 in the Czech Republic.
The main objective is to reconcile the training of forward guides with aerospace crews and ground commanders in a multinational environment. An integral part of the test is the Host Nation Support capability. Pilots practice their skills during refueling in flight.
We expect roughly the same number of soldiers as in 2016 to take place this year. Of the more than a thousand trainers, there should be up to 400 troopers from the Alliance and Partner Armed Forces and approximately two hundred soldiers from the ACR Backup. Participation has so far been confirmed by 19 countries, including the Czech Republic, and other states are still in talks.
The soldiers will use the military training facilities Boletice and Libavá, the 22nd Helicopter Air Force Base Sedlec, Vícenice near Náměstí nad Oslavou, the 21st Tactical Air Force Base, the Pardubice Airport Administration and the 15th Engineer Regiment in Bechyně.
Apart from Czech airplanes, airplanes will also include Polish Sukhoi Su-22 or German Tornado. Americans promised strategic bombers B-1B and B-52, which will operate from home base in England.
The exercise is fully under the control of the Czech Army, the governing body of which is the Air Force Headquarters of the Czech Armed Forces. The specific numbers of aeronautical equipment and the total number of participants will be specified at the final planning conference, to be held in July.

Is Arctic Challenge expected to incorporate Fairford this year? Don't seem to recall it having anything to do with it before.

Rory, believe that Scramble.nl had "UK" down for it but can't seem to find the link.

Surly if they were due next week we would have seen support arriving ? Last year for baltops we had the kalitta 747 1 week before the B52s and the atlas 747 a few days before? From what is posted elsewhere looks as if the b52s are going to be coming direct from US

Scramble seems to have them down as flying from the US for Artic Challenge so looks like we might have to wait a little longer.

Hopefully any deployments in the next few weeks won't be postponed because of purdah rules.....? It's happened in the past with operational deployments at Fairford and Mildenhall.

"This is just more of a normal routine [mission]," he said. "Please don't make anything of us going over to Fairford because that's just ops normal."

Random exercises are never random. :Wow:

So - reading from the linked article and with them combining with RIAT and with a visit time possibly around two weeks (just a guess) could it put thier arrival twoards the end of June?

Purdah will have nothing to do with deployments...

Just every now & then Google isn't your friend !
purdah/ˈpəːdə/
noun: purdah...the practice in certain Muslim and Hindu societies of screening women from men or strangers, especially by means of a curtain. :O
I thought, how the Donald Duck is that affecting USAF bombers? Settle-down!...I've got it now. Sodding Election!
