Saw her over the top Worcester, clearly visible as a U-2 without binos!

Yeah the 'binos' fit is still used occasionally on ops , but for these transit flights the jock just has Mk 1 eyeball ;)

15cm of snow over 22hrs so far here in Fairford today, with a bit of drifting in the north wind, so good job he got out when he did!

Ah, from experience of using USAF weather reports in preference to our Met Office, this transit of 4 U2s was very well planned around Wednesdays weather. Makes you wonder about next weeks weather. Last night it seemed the Met Office hadn't got a clue that it would heavily snow in hertfordshire as well. Which is why we used USAF.

Hi,
How can I access these weather reports, if at all.
Cheers
Pune
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Howdo, Pune.
I Google "weather" plus my home town then scroll down to the 'metoffice' page. Once on, I then key on 'wind direction, speed' etc. You can change locations of course for likely runways in use. Must confess I've never tried for any USAF 'metro' sites.

Met Office, link is for Grimsby. Change to your location, set up as you wish. In Windows 7, save that page to favorites. Open favourites list and select the page you just added. Right click "copy". Back to destop. In a clear space, right click and select "paste shortcut". Thats how I do it anyway and for a lot of other web pages:
