Fighter planes spotted towards Fairford ?

Hi, bit of a newby to this but around the 4th/5th Aug two fighters flew over my house heading towards Brize or Fairford, I think it would more likely be Fairford due to the flying height, ie not very high !!
I've searched this forum and Google to find out what they were and doing around here but without any success. I'm hoping I wasn't the only person who noticed these planes as it was a nice clear day around 9.00 in the morning, they were twin tailed and flying side by side quite low. I think they were F15 but would like to know more ;-)

What about a very quiet arrival into fairford last night ?

The only native fast jets that fly in the UK with twin tails at the moment are F-15s. There weren't any other foreign visitors to the UK with twin tails around that time, as far as I know.

Based on that I'd say F-15s... They have known to PD to Brize and other fields around the country.
