No B-52s involved but, wouldn't be at all surprised if participating B-1s operated from Fairford.

Might use Moron - Global Strike Command's other Forward Bomber Base in Europe.

Understand B1's minelaying - possibly fly missions direct from CONUS especially if no. of missions foreseen is small . Its a big Ex overall though , and previous 'rules' may not apply . In other words anythings possible & I've no idea whats likely !

Agree, B-1's have already demonstrated their Global reach by flying from the CONUS to Europe and back so its another possibility.

Johnwayne,
I think you are maybe getting confused with BaltOps.
The only maritime involvement in Trident juncture are amphibious landing by the US Marines on October 31st and by French, Dutch, Finish and UK troops on November 3rd.

Noted - I 'get' the Trident Juncture scenario & no confusion with BaltOps . 'Minelaying' was quoted in an earlier NATO TJ briefing but non-specific . I looked at air assets participating & capabilities & put 2 + 2 together but I acknowledge that can sometimes that make 5 ! I think the jury's still out on B1 participation / nature of ops / basing etc . ;)

Having attended the last two, I would be interested in seeing a link to the "Minelaying" NATO TJ" brief for future TJ exercises - if you get chance.

Wasn’t there a similar exercise this time last year that we all got excited about, but in the end Fairford wasn’t used?

There are no aircraft due, but it is possible Fairford may be on standby for any in-flight problems if aircraft are flying long missions direct from the U.S.

Is there any more news?

They're operating from CONUS, nothing happening at Fairford.
