Aircraft over barnstaple

Post by wizard44 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 2:04 pm

HI Guys I was in Ilfracombe on Sunday 2nd August and spotted very high up one large aircraft being escorted by six smaller jets almost in a vic formation, any idea what they were.
Cheers

Thanks seacat i did notice there have been a lot of aircraft over Chivenor lately, however my understanding is that the runway is now defunct, and apparently there are now buildings on it, which seems to me to be a bit short sighted, if true.

Cheers

Hi,

SWAG link did report it was the A10's and certainly in that area. Also noticed a C130J in your area today (05/08)

yeah your right Ian I watched it on Flightradar24, it eventually moved on to Wales where it landed, there have also been two RN Beachcraft flying around looks like they came from St Mawgan i hesitate to say this but it did look like they were dogfighting if you can believe that, we also get a lot of Dassault aircraft dogfighting over the coast here.
