Devon D-Day Around on the 6th
Heard there is a fly over of a handful of vintage aircraft to include Chivenor? Not sure if correct but sounds authentic
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Sorry I don't collect serials but saw them fly over Saunton/Braunton training areas. Quite a nice site!cloudhawk wrote:Hi there , Saw the loose 6 ship "formation" just after 11am , only managed to read 1 serial off :- XR241/G-AXRR , another was coded "N" & the leader was just calling G-??NT . Probably, almost certainly operating out of the Auster Nest at Eggesford. Amongst many others the following are based. G-AXRR / XR241 AOP9.. G-ARIH / TW591 "N" Auster 6.. G-FINT / 3583 Cub..

Re: Saturday 6th
The cubs/Austers were for D Day celibrations on or about Saunton beach . On sunday 7th at just after 1900 several of these escouted microlights into Chiv from Eggesford . They microlights had started from Kemble and night stopped at Chiv . No idents noted as they came in from the south onto disused runway 30 and stayed over by the river . Can anyone help with idents for both days please ?? Chrisj
