A post on a Facebook group I'm on has stated that two F35s are due Coningsby around 10 tomorrow, seems odd, but is there any truth in this? Or is the rumour mill running over time.

Possibly, I could understand them going to Marham, but Coningsby seems odd, especially with the Typhoon currently at Lakenheath. Guess we wait.

The Typhoon that landed at Lakenheath today, callsign Whirlwind31, had 930 on the tail and no squadron markings, and had a US pilot.A 'Follow Me 'took him to parking.

The entire Typhoon fleet will be like that eventually, much the same as the Tornado GR.4 fleet in later years (and the Harriers for that matter!). A shame if they all lose squadron markings and get "pooled", but a lot easier to ID individual aircraft! The Typhoon that landed at Lakenheath today, callsign Whirlwind31, had 930 on the tail and no squadron markings

Maybe they could squeeze in an F22(Tabor flight) to the photo shoot tomorrow . Typhoon/F15/F22/F35. Now that would be a photo

We got this one wrong? Lol after tonight's goings on!coningsbycrazy2 wrote:Does this mean no flights this week at all? You'd think at least Thursday and Friday there would be a few familiarisation flights etc ready for ops on Monday.

Guys
Are they likely to use any of the ranges whilst they are here?
(And see the very stealthy extra pylons hanging off the wings )

Re: Any Questions Regarding F35s Whilst at Lakenheath ??
Have the F35s used afterburner on takeoff so far or are they, like the F22s and Typhoons, powerful enough not to need it in normal operation?
Re: Any Questions Regarding F35s Whilst at Lakenheath ??
Observing them today, most take-offs didn't use afterburner, but a few did.Have the F35s used afterburner on takeoff so far or are they, like the F22s and Typhoons, powerful enough not to need it in normal operation?

3 out of the 6 that launched in the morning on Friday used burners as did most of the F15Cs

I'm trying to find the link to when the F-35's arrived but can't. Mainly looking for c/s of aircraft, tanker support c/s and what day they arrived. Can anyone point me in the right direction
Re: Any Questions Regarding F35s Whilst at Lakenheath ??
They arrived last Saturday during the Easter weekend
