I can never understand the variation in price between the LN SQNs. Why? It doesn’t make sense. I purchased one patch off them for £20, that I had been after for months as I needed it for a frame. But it took me a couple minutes to haggle the price from £25!!

How they could charge £30 for their RIAT patch, but the 492nd’s was £10, and the 67th SOS one was £7!! And both of those were MUCH better patches.

Oh - did anyone see their £2,000 mug too???

Missed out on the aussie, sold out in an hour and a half on saturday.
Bought the raf 100 patch from the xingu on friday, only 70 available?still on sale sunday...not popular?

Xingu? Enlighten me please.

James, I had a funny feeling that the RIAT patches were going to be expensive, so I ordered the full set of three direct from Pat Van Dam for $30 USD plus shipping, which was included with two other patches from the Bolars out of another set of three, that were announced a few days previously. The shipping was combined for those five patches so I made quite a significant saving, compared to what it would have cost me at the table, which would have been £90!
It's usually more expensive to go direct from Pat, but this time it was the right decision. I agree, the Bolars' patch was a lot nicer.

£30 for a current patch, at the exact show it's designed for, is absolutely ridiculous.

Lucky bugg*r, went up to the Pakistani Herc on Sunday morning and they'd run out. :(

Managed to get my hands on 47 patches over the course of the weekend though so can't complain.

With a bit of help I hope I can get some of the patches I missed - and there are quite a few! I will post a final list in the next few days. I will say though that any RAF 100 specific patches (such as the Pakistan PVC, Mildenhall shield, etc) are items I want to add to my collection no matter the a/c type.

However, I did walk away with over 40 patches if you include a couple traders. Here's my haul.

Hi Gary,

On Friday this was the only one they had out, although for some reason i have a feeling there was another patch or something on the table?
But i am sure it was not another nations roundel, as i would have got that as well

Andy,

The 100 Years Tiger patch is from 230 Squadron who operate the Puma.

Andy,

The 230Sqn Patch was on sale with Squadron Prints, while can't see it on their website maybe worth checking with them directly.

Cheers Rob

My biggest issue was that some squadrons, had reduced their pricing by Sunday late afternoon to the pricing first thing on Friday! But difficult to challenge when did not have the patches with me that had previously purchased.

That's the chance you take unfortunately, do you either buy patches Friday before they sell out and risk them potentially being cheaper at the end of the show, or do you wait until they are cheaper, but at a higher risk of selling out? I know for one I would rather buy first thing

Some really excellent patches there, I used to collect them many moons ago. It looks like some have spent a small fortune at RIAT!! Remortgaging the house now?!!! I was tempted by the F15 glow in the dark patch. For those who bought it, does it?!! Was that the £30 patch?

Only just seen this properly Minty - good idea. Any contact details/eBay etc for Pat Van Dam at all please? Cheers :thumb:
